Celebrate with REONA's Omakase
REONA is an omakase experience explained in English. With the Rikai Signature Course, you can talk with the chefs, learn about what you are eating, and step behind the counter for a photo in chef coats. The dinner comes first, and the cake is served at the end. Before you book, you can learn more about the REONA omakase concept and story on our website.
AFTER THE LAST PIECE
The course ends. Then, for one of you, a cake appears with its candles already lit.
If you would like the cake to be a surprise, we will take care of the timing without telling the guest. Once the course is finished and the cake is ready, we will bring it out to the counter. For birthdays, we will play a birthday song when the cake arrives. If you would prefer to keep it quiet, just let us know.
THE MESSAGE PLATE, YOUR WAY
Choose English or Japanese for the chocolate plate and let us know the name of the person you are celebrating. The name can be written in English or katakana.
How to Arrange It

Reserve your seats
We recommend booking your omakase in advance. The cake must be requested and paid for at least one week before your visit, so we recommend reserving as early as possible.

Write it in Special Request
Add the word cake and the occasion to the Special Request field on the reservation form.

We confirm by email
We'll reply to confirm the cake size and flavor, the name to put on the plate, the occasion, and whether it is a surprise.

Pay online in advance
We'll send you a payment link by email, which you can use to pay by credit or debit card. Your payment confirms the cake order.

Enjoy the moment
Once the course is over, the cake comes out with the candles lit, and you can enjoy your celebration. Any leftover cake can go back to your hotel with you.
What We Can and Can't Do
We'd rather explain this before your visit than have to say no on the day. Here's what we can do to help with your celebration and what we can't.
- Celebration cake
- Ordered through us and paid online at least one week in advance. A message plate, candles, and a birthday song are included.
- Flowers
- We cannot accept flowers, whether delivered or brought in, as we don't have a safe place to keep them.
- Balloons and decorations
- The counter is shared with other guests, so we keep the space as it is.
FAQs
How far in advance should I request a cake?
Request the cake when you make your reservation, and complete the payment at least one week before your visit. We cannot accept requests made less than one week before your visit. Add your request to the Special Request field, and we'll confirm the details by email.
What kind of cake will it be?
A Japanese shortcake made with light sponge, freshly whipped cream, and strawberries. It is the cake commonly served at birthdays in Japan and is different from the shortcake you may know from the US or UK. A 12 cm chocolate cake is available at the same price, and we can arrange a cake made without wheat or eggs for ¥7,300. It is only available in the 12 cm size. Other flavors may also be available upon request. We confirm the details by email.
Can it be a surprise?
Yes. If you tell us who it is for, we'll keep it a surprise and bring out the cake after the course. For birthdays, we'll play a birthday song when the cake comes out. If you'd rather keep things quiet and skip the birthday song, just let us know.
Can you prepare a cake on a Sunday?
Our usual bakery is closed on Sundays, so on those days, we can only offer the ¥7,300 patissier cake, depending on availability. Please ask when you make your reservation.
How do we pay for the cake?
The cake is paid for in advance, separately from your dinner. Once we confirm the details by email, we'll send you a payment link, which you can use to pay by credit or debit card. Your payment confirms the cake order.
Can we cancel the cake?
You can cancel it before payment. Once you've paid, we place the order with the bakery, so we cannot cancel or refund the cake after that. Your omakase reservation follows our usual cancellation policy.
Do we still get the regular dessert?
When you order a cake, we normally skip the regular dessert so you don't end up with two desserts. If you would like both, just let us know and we'll serve both.
What if we cannot finish the cake?
You can take the rest with you. Please enjoy it soon after you leave.
